The connector for the heating element where the blue wire is in your first picture is a 5/16" high temperature connector. Been over a week now of incorrect sizes being ordered from amazon lol. Literally, this is the only thing left that I need to do, to fix our dryer. Which leads me to believe (now, at least), that I need one thats 5/16 in size to connect to it. I measured the same connector of the heating element, and you can see it's just a hair bigger than 1/4 and just a hair smaller than 3/8. I need a connector to fit this male end. Making it way too wide and loose on the male part on the heating element. Meaning that the new female connector I bought was bigger that the size I needed. I thought I had it correct with 3/8, but when it arrived the male part of the set was exactly as wide as the old female connector I lost. So I did that, but now I can't find any in the right size. But now I'm realizing I should of measures the male part, not the female part. So far, I bought ones that were too small, way to small, or too big. Only I didn't realize how annoying this would be to find one that is the right size! It was burned up and I figured I couldn't use it anyway, so I'd buy a new one. I lost the old connector or terminal that connect to the heating element. (Well, I haven't soldered in a while, screwed up a couple times, and said screw it, I'll use a Wing Nut wire connector) - Īnyway after I got all that done. So I bought some 14 AWG wire, same as the one the dryer was using, and decided to solder on a new piece with heatshrink.

Only to find out, when I was about to install it, that the wire burned off. I assumed it was the same thing, so I bought another one.

So our dryer stopped heating again, for the second time.įirst time, it was a bad heating element.
